FAQs about patient reported outcomes software for kiosk

Frequently Asked Questions

I am worried about disrupting clinic flow €“ how much will need to change when I implement Prosk?
Clinic flow adjustments are minimal where surveys are already in place. Clinic staff will need to pre-load the patient medical identification number into Prosk to establish first time patient access. When patients check in for their appointment, they are asked to complete the survey on a touch screen tablet. When the patient has completed the survey, Prosk processes the survey scoring in real-time and immediately prints a graphical 1-page-outcomes-report. Clinic staff add the report to the patient file as input to the patient-provider visit. These minor adjustments to the clinic flow have been shown to demand NO INCREASE in the patient cycle time, yet will allow physicians and patients to immediately benefit from the diagnostic power of the 1-page-outcomes-report during the patient visit.

Will Prosk require that I allocate more time per patient?
The great thing about Prosk is that the patients do all the work! After patient check in (within normal waiting room time), patients enter survey responses electronically. Prosk€™s real-time scoring and graphic output mean the 1-page-outcomes-report is available immediately.
The 1-page-outcomes-report will provide you with a diagnostic tool. It is a powerful resource from which you can have an enhanced and richer outcomes dialogue with your patient. Remember, the 1-page-outcomes-report represents scored data from the current patient visit and the scored data from prior visits. It also allows you to see the patient€™s outcome in perspective with normative standards. All to the advantage of a better overall patient experience - not a more time consuming one.

Can I customize the survey?
Prosk was designed with the input of respected physicians, surgeons, and healthcare institutions. The surveys include the gold-standard of general health surveys €“ the SF-36v2® Health Survey. The general health perspective is complemented by surveys that cover demographic, pain, specialty from a selection, and cormorbidity. Seattle Information Systems is confident that this combination of survey, technology, and reporting, when implemented in any clinic flow, will result in one giant leap forward in outcomes based care. If indeed, you have a need for a disease-specific survey that is not yet available in our product, SIS would be willing to work with you to adjust the product schedule for specialty survey availability.

Budgets are very tight these days €“ what type of investment do I need for Prosk?
SIS knows that the time for healthcare change is now. With increased pressure from insurers, government, and patients to emphasize outcomes based healthcare, there is no time to lose. SIS has designed the solution to work like a toaster €“ you plug it in and it works. No need to collaborate with IT systems integration to defend you project€™s place in the queue. Prosk is positioned to accommodate a low cost of entry €“ it can be implemented for a fraction of the cost of other medical IT solutions. When considering the cost, it is important to point of that the 1-page-outcomes-report serves as medical records documentation that facilitates E/M coding decisions and maximizes confidence in reimbursement.

How long does it take to implement Prosk?
Prosk can be available for the next patient that walks in your door.
